This hand carved linocut print features a floral checkerboard design, with something growing inside every square. It’s one of the first larger-scale pieces I’ve completed, and easily one of the most time-intensive works I’ve made.

This piece came together slowly during a period where inspiration felt hard to find. I worked on it over time, carving flower by flower, square by square, and the process became grounding in a way I didn’t expect. What started as a challenging project turned into something comforting… A reminder that creativity can still exist during difficult seasons.

The checkerboard structure gives the piece rhythm and balance, while the individual plants keep it playful and organic. Every mark was carved and printed by hand, making each print slightly unique.
