The “She’s Not There” series explores the unsettling experience of not feeling like yourself. The series grew from my own encounters with shifting emotional states and the distance that can develop between the person I expect to recognize and the person I actually encounter. Through repeated, overlapping, and fragmented figures, the work explores different versions of the self as they appear, disappear, and reassemble. The figures move through anger, sadness, recognition, and uncertainty. Sometimes existing alongside one another and sometimes difficult to distinguish. I use linocut and mixed media to make that instability physical. Misregistered layers, repetition, and obscured imagery become part of the visual language, allowing the imperfections of the process to mirror the experience being explored. “She’s Not There” is not about losing oneself entirely, but about those moments when the familiar version of yourself feels out of reach.

A Study on Flowers
Megan Yuill is a self-taught printmaker and mixed-media artist based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Working primarily with linocut and guided by curiosity, her work becomes a way of exploring ideas, emotions, and experiences that are not always easy to articulate. Her practice moves between bold, graphic imagery and more fragmented compositions, often reflecting something she is trying to understand or work through.
